When I read the news that Powhatan County was about to get its very own state park, I got a little excited. You see, I don’t know much about the county. The Times-Dispatch recently did a Stepping Out profile of Powhatan, which was a good starter. I’ve considered taking a trip to the Powhatan Wildlife Management Area, but need to pick a warmer time (and outside of hunting season, right?) What else is there to see and do? What are the favorite attractions for the area? Don’t tell me that heading into Chesterfield is the only fun thing to do in Powhatan!
